A proudly Canadian celebration of the sea.

Our Ocean Film Festival is a fresh, proudly Canadian festival created to celebrate the stories, people, and places that shape our connection to the ocean. Born from the momentum of Our Earth Film Festival and the incredible audiences who have embraced ocean-focused films, this new festival goes further: more films, more community, more support for local foundations, and a deeper commitment to the coastline we call home.

Here on the Pacific, the ocean is part of who we are. Our Ocean Film Fest brings together filmmakers, researchers, Indigenous leaders, conservation groups, and ocean lovers to explore the beauty and challenges of marine life, from the kelp forests of British Columbia to waters around the world. Every screening is paired with meaningful conversations and real ways to get involved, so the stories continue long after the credits roll.

Rooted in Canada, the festival highlights local talent and local action while welcoming global voices and films that help us see our coast as part of a larger, interconnected ocean community. It’s a space where science meets storytelling, where neighbourhoods meet nature, and where inspiration meets impact.

More films. More conversations. More community.
Our Ocean Film Fest isn’t just about watching movies, it’s about bringing people together to protect the ocean that protects us.

Join us as we launch a festival built for our communities, shaped by purpose, and created with a deep love for the sea.

2026 Edition

The Our Ocean Film Festival was created with a simple but powerful purpose: to bring our community closer to the ocean that surrounds us, sustains us, and shapes our identity. More than just a film event, it’s a local gathering space where stories, science, and people intersect. By showcasing breathtaking films and real voices from our coastline, the festival strengthens our connection to the ocean and reminds us that protecting it begins with awareness, empathy, and action.
